Greetings from Venice

I have spent a lot of time photographing Venice and am in the process of publishing a Photographer's Guide to the city. I have seen thousands of shots from the Rialto bridge and would like to offer my opinions on this one. The composition and framing is good and timing captures the action of the boat traffic on the grand Canal and the gondola in the center adds a touch of romanticism. The exposure is also good with detail in both the highlights and shadows. Where the image has problems for me is in the toning. The whole image is oversaturated and the shadows have an extreme blue cast. there is also quite a bit of purple fringing on the highlights. If you were going for an old cheap postcard feel then it works, but otherwise the toning is off the mark and gives the image a cartoonish feel.
