illuminate the darkness

The feelings I get from this picture are of patience and enlightenment. Candles, especially melted ones give the image age as they are no longer a common source of illumination now days and given how long it takes to actually melt one. Patience is shown by the fact that the wax has run down the hand in multiple areas, in long beaded streams. The feeling of enlightenment is that of the bright flame in the dark. With so many emotions in such a simple picture, which I'm sure was in no way simple to take, I cannot help but to love this picture and the symbolism it carries with it.
